Best Coffee Shops in Toronto: My Personal Fav’s
If you’re searching for the best coffee in Toronto, particularly if you prefer lattes over strong coffee, this guide is for you! From the rich nutty delights at The Roasted Nut to the smooth matcha at MosMos, I’ve rounded up my favorite coffee spots for every kind of caffeine experience.
1. MosMos
If you’re like me and love a good latte, MosMos should be on your list. This Toronto-only coffee shop is my top choice for a smooth Ceremonial Matcha or Taro Latte. They also offer seasonal favorites like the Pumpkin Spice Latte, making it a must-visit for latte lovers. It’s not the place for caffeine addicts—if you’re looking for that bold coffee punch, you might need to look elsewhere.
2. Fahrenheit Coffee
While not my usual spot, Fahrenheit Coffee is perfect for those who love strong coffee. It’s home to the best Americanos in the city, though I have a funny date story from this place—it’s where I found out my date was a bit of a regular with his, uh, romantic interests. Safe to say that was our first and last date, but it definitely was not the coffee.
3. Milky’s Coffee
For cold brew fans, Milky’s is a gem. Their Cold Foam Cold Brew is light and refreshing, with the perfect texture. The minimalist vibe inside is the perfect backdrop for your coffee snaps.
4. Ethica Roasters
Ethica Roasters is known for their ethical sourcing and strong brews. While strong coffee isn’t my thing, my coffee-obsessed friends swear by this place. If you love bold flavors and sustainable practices, this might be the spot for you.
5. Hatch Crafted
Markham isn’t too far for great coffee, and Hatch Crafted offers just that. Known for smooth and balanced brews, it’s the perfect destination if you’re looking for something new and fresh.
6. Subtext Coffee
Subtext has become a favorite among third-wave coffee enthusiasts. While it’s not my go-to for lattes, many people rave about their specialty brews, so it’s worth a visit if you’re into unique, high-quality coffee.
7. The Roasted Nut
As a latte lover, The Roasted Nut is a personal favorite. Their Roche Latte and Cashew Butter Latte are rich, creamy, and offer something special that stands out from the usual coffee menus in Toronto. Nut-based lattes are their specialty, and they’re perfect for when you’re craving something smooth and indulgent.
8. Jimmy’s Coffee
While some rave about Jimmy’s Coffee, it just didn’t click with me. The ambiance was a miss, and the coffee fell flat. It’s popular with others, so maybe it’s worth checking out for yourself!
